The tested D-Value is 11.2 kN. For ex-
ample, this applies to a trailer load of
2100 kg and a permitted total weight of
2500 kg. The data in the motor-vehicle
registration certificate, however, take
priority. The tested D-value may not be
exceeded. The permissible nose weight
may not exceed 75 kg.

The Coupling Ball with Bracket (CBB)
may only be used to tow trailers which
have corresponding tow ball couplings. If
the towing eye has to be removed when
mounting the CBB, the CBB serves as its
replacement as long as the permissible
trailer load is not exceeded and the
towing procedure takes place on
commonly driven roads.

The electrical system must be installed
in accordance with StVZO (German
Federal
Standards).
The socket bracket is designed for
installing either a 7-pin or 13-pin socket.
Retrofitting the coupling ball with
bracket must be inspected by an
officially approved expert or inspector on
submission
Instructions and the motor-vehicle
registration certificate (§ 19,20,21
StVZO [German Federal Motor-Vehicle
Safety Standards]).
Thereafter, a corresponding entry must
be added by the traffic commissioner to
the motor-vehicle registration certificate
on submission thereof. The mounting
instructions must be enclosed with the
vehicle registration papers.

Note:
Trailer operation restricts the handling
properties of the vehicle and demands
higher driver-awareness. Trailer operation
increases the load demand on the cooling
system. Request information regarding
necessary modification of the cooling unit
from
the
contracted
Information about this is found in the guide
entitled "Trailer Operation" from V.A.G.
The specified trailer load only applies to
the coupling ball with bracket and does
not refer to the vehicle.
Note:
The CBB is a safety device and may only
be installed by trained personnel.
If spare parts are required, they too may
only be installed to undamaged original
parts by trained personnel.
Modifying and converting the CBB is not
permitted; any such work leads to the
revocation of the operating permission.
