Troubleshooting

1. For W indows 7, if the installation menu does not appear automatically, click on the W indows Icon
on the bottom left hand corner of the screen,, click the "Search programs and files" box, and
type D:\autorun.exe, where " D" in " D:\autorun.exe" is the letter assigned to your CD-ROM Drive,
and then press the ENTER key on your keyboard.
2. For W indows Vista, if the installation menu does not appear automatically, click S tart, click the
S ta rt Search box, and type D :\auto run .exe where "D" in "D:\autorun.exe" is the letter assigned
to your CD-ROM Drive, and then press the ENTER key on your keyboard.
3. For W indows 2000/XP, if the installation menu does not appear automatically, click Start, click
Run, and type D :\auto run where "D" in "D:\autorun.exe" is the letter assigned to your CD-ROM
Drive, and then press the ENTER key on your keyboard.

1. Verify that the Network Name (SSID) matches your wireless router or access point's Network
Name (SSID).
2. Check your TCP/IP properties to ensure that Obtain an IP address autom atically is selected.
3. Open the W ireless Adapter Configuration Utility icon, click Site Survey and then click refresh to
check and see if there are any available wireless networks listed.
4. Your wireless network may be encrypted. Contact your network adm inistrator to find the
encryption type and encryption key. Then click on C o n fig u ra tio n (W indow s Vista/XP/2000) or
A d va n ce d (W in d o w s ME/98SE) to enter the encryption key.
3. W in d o w s is unable to recognize m y hardw are. W hat s h o u ld I do?
1. Make sure your com puter meets the minimum requirements as specified in Section 1 of this
quick installation guide.
2. You must complete the installation of the wireless adapter configuration utility (as described in
Section 2) before connecting the W ireless Adapter to your computer.
3. Connect the W ireless Adapter to a different PCI/PC Card slot on your computer.
4. I c a n n o t ope n th e w ire le s s a da pter c o n fig u ra tio n u tility . W hat s h o u ld I do?
1. Access your device m anager to make sure the adapter is installed properly. If you see a
networking device with a yellow question mark or exclamation point, you will need to reinstall the
device and/or the drivers. To access the device m anager on W indows 7, click on the Windows
icon on the bottom left hand corner of the screen, right-click on Computer, click Properties and
then click Device Manager. To access the device m anager on W indows Vista, right-click on
C o m pu ter, click P ro p e rtie s and then click Device Manager. To access the device m anager on
W indows 2000/XP, right-click My C o m pu ter, click P rope rties, click the Hardw are tab, and then
click Device Manager.
2. If you are running W indows XP, you need to disable wireless zero configuration. Go to C o ntrol
Panel -> N e tw o rk C o n n e ctio n s. Right click on the W ire le s s N e tw ork C o n n e c tio n icon and
select P rope rties. Click on the W ire le ss N e tw orks tab and uncheck Use w in d o w s to
c o n fig u re m y w ire le s s s e ttin g s . Then click OK.
