GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The LTE 200 is a single-phase, thyristor-controlled
welding rectifier and consists of a welding transformer
fitted with a thyristorcontrolled rectifier and an inductor.
Electronic controls ensure the maintenance of a con-
stant welding current independent of varying mains
voltage and arc length.
Migatronic's design provides a steady arc almost with-
out spatter and with excellent welding characteristics
which make it is possible to weld with nearly all
manuel metal arc electrodes.
Three models are available:
LTE 200 S
LTE 200 LIFTIG
LTE 200 HFTIG
All three models are suitable for use with manuel
metal arc welding electrodes and are equipped with
hot start and arc power controls.
Various types of remote controls can be used and all
models are fitted with a voltage selector switch to allow
their use on 240 volts AC single phase or 415 volts AC
three phase mains supply.
The models LTE 200 LIFTIG and LEHF are also used
for TIG welding. These machines have variable Slope
down, fixed pre-weld gas flow, variable post-weld gas
flow, choice of 2 or 4 times (latching) operation.
In the LIFTIG version the arc start procedure is to
touch the tungsten electrode onto the workpiece and
press the torch button, then establish the arc by lifting
the tungsten electrode from the workpiece.
In the LEHF version the TIG arc is struck by touching
the workpiece, as the high frequency (HF) pulse
strikes the arc when pressing the torch button.
It is recommendable that the machine is fitted with the
robust and sturdy trolley which is available and able to
carry an argon gas cylinder.
INITIAL OPERATION
Mains connection
The mains cable is taken through the grommet at the
front of the machine and is connected to the terminal
strip at L1 and L2. The yellow/green earth connection
is attached to the
marked screw.
Usually, the machine will be fitted with mains cable on
delivery. When the mains plug is connected and it is
ensured that the locking screw at the power switch is
mounted correctly, your machine is ready for use.
Fuse sizes and mains cable sizes for various
mains voltages:
Mains voltage
220/380 V *)
240/415 V
*) Max. fuse size at mains connection: 10 A
Warning! Electrical mains power must be switched
off before the cabinet is opened, and only
qualified and authorized electricians should
work on electrical machines.
Connection of welding cables
The welding and return cables are connected to the
front of the machine. When connecting the plugs
should be turned approximately 90° to avoid damage
being caused by high contact resistance.
The control board
All control functions are built into the easily removed
control board. By loosening the two screws securing
the control board it can be removed without opening
the machine. On the back of the control board there is
a multiplug which connects the control board to the
other parts of the machine.
The control board is available in 2 versions with
different functions, one for LTE 200 and one for LTE
200 LIFTIG and LTE 200 LEHF.
Warning! Electrical mains power must be switched off
before exchanging the control board.
