The scooter was designed to offer you many advantages and meet your needs. Thanks to the various adjustment options and optimum adaptability, the scooter can be adjusted according to your individual body size.

General safety instructions • To avoid falls and dangerous situations, you should first practice driving your new scooter on level, unobstructed ground. We recommend having an assistant with you. • Before operating the scooter, please check that all attached parts are correctly fastened.
FORTIS | Scooter • The rear lights at the scooter must always be visible to other road users. • If possible, wear bright, conspicuous clothing. This will make it easier for other road users to see you. • Please note that the upholstery will heat up if directly exposed to sunlight and may cause injuries to your skin when touched.
The scooter Fortis is designed for outdoor use by persons with impaired mobility. It is therefore capable of travelling long distances and overcoming obstacles outdoors. The scooter Fortis is classified according to EN 12184 in category C. The maximum load capacity is 135 kg.

3. Description of Product and Contents 3.1. Inspection on Delivery All B+B products undergo a proper final inspection in our company and are labeled with the CE mark. The scooter is delivered in a special carton. Keep the carton after un- packing, if possible.

FORTIS Scooter | 3.5. Basic adjustments Before using the scooter for the first time, it is necessary to adjust the scooter according to your height. This is essential to ensure that your posture is physiologically correct for driving for extended periods of time without excessive fatigue.

FORTIS Scooter | Speed setting You can use these buttons (fig. 15) to set the maximum speed. • Turn the switch to the left ( turtle) to reduce the maximum allowed speed. • Turn the switch to the right (rabbit), to raise up to the maximum allowed speed.
FORTIS | Scooter Indicators (left/right) Use this button (fig. 18) to switch on the left or right indicator on your scooter to signal to other road users that you wish to turn left/right. Pressing the button again turns the indicator off again.
FORTIS Scooter | 4.3. Driving the scooter You should make your first journey on a level site with ample space • Ensure that you are sitting correctly on your scooter. Set the speed as low as possible. You can increase the speed when you are more familiar with handling the scooter.
FORTIS | Scooter • It is necessary to pay attention when reversing. Ensure that your speed is low before reversing. Please keep in mind that you need to steer in the opposite direction when you are reversing. This requires practice. Practice this also on a level site with ample space.
FORTIS Scooter | For safety reasons, the motor drive is locked when the scooter is being operated in pushing mode. Caution! Danger of fatal injury! The drives must only be disconnected on a level surface. 4.4.1. Brakes in pushing mode A manual service brake is attached to your scooter (as described in section 2.3).

FORTIS | Scooter 6. Care instructions for the user 6.1. Cleaning and disinfection Ensure that the scooter is switched off before starting to clean it. • The frame and the paneling of the scooter can be cleaned with a moist cloth. You can use a mild detergent for more stubborn dirt.
FORTIS Scooter | 6.2. Check Before Use 6.2.1. Brake Inspection Make sure your brakes are operating properly before each use. • Start off carefully and let go of the throttle lever. The scooter must come to a complete stop as usual.
FORTIS | Scooter 6.2.3. Inspection of Tyres Before embarking on any journey, check that the tyres are in good condition. • Check the tyre pressure. This should be 3.5 bar. • Carry out a regular check of the tread depth of the tyres once a month.

FORTIS | Scooter Only use batteries that are approved for this scooter (see Technical data). Ensure that the scooter is switched off before starting to replace the batteries. The batteries are located under the seat of the scooter and are protected by the housing cover.

Storage / Shipping If the scooter is to be stored or shipped, all attachable and unsecured parts must be removed and packed individually in appropriate cartons.

For use by others, the scooter must first be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected according to the accompanying care and hygiene instructions. The product shall get checked by a qualified mobility dealer for general condition, wear and shall get repaired if necessary.
