  • Page 4 6 Route the cable so it doesn’t overhang, and can’t be tripped over or caught. 7 Don’t open the lid while the water is heating. 8 Pour slowly, and don’t over-tilt the kettle. 9 Don’t switch on unless the kettle contains at least 2 cups of water. 10 Don’t fill past the max mark, or it may spit boiling water.
  • Page 5 C SWITCHING ON 10 Put the kettle on the stand – take care not to spill. 11 Plug the stand into a power socket (switch the socket on, if it’s switchable). 12 Move the switch to 1 – the light will glow, and the kettle will heat C SWITCHING OFF 13 When the water boils, the kettle will switch itself off, and the light will go out.
  • Page 6 C CARE AND MAINTENANCE 1 Check that the kettle is switched off – move the switch to 0, or lift it off the stand. 2 Unplug the stand (switch the socket off first, if it’s switchable), and let the kettle cool down fully. 3 Wipe the kettle, inside and out, with a damp cloth.
  • Page 7 C CLEANING THE FILTER 14 Switch the kettle off, and let it cool. 15 Open the lid. 16 Push the top of the filter down and back, into the kettle, to release the hooks on the top of the filter from the rectangular holes at the top of the spout.
