Installation

1.
Ensure the hood is clean and dry inside and out. Open the hood of the vehicle.
2.
Four of the retaining clips must be removed from the hood seal. Determine which four clips by centering the protector on the hood. Set the protector aside
and remove the four retaining clips by using the side cutters.
3.
Insert the protector tab in between the hood and the hood seal. Center the protector on the hood then insert the expansion plugs into the existing holes in
the hood seal, through the holes in the protector and into the hood. See Illustration #1. Ensure all the components are well seated into the hood. Tighten
the #10 x 5/8 screws into the expansion plugs. Do not over tighten.

Attach the anti-abrasion film pads to the hood in line with the holes in the leading edge of the protector. Fold the pads in half over the hood edge to cover
at least ½ of the underside of the hood. See Illustration #2.

Slide the C clips over the edge of the hood in line with the holes in the protector. Ensure the C clips are well seated against the hood; it may be
necessary to tap on the clips. See Illustration #2.
6.
Ensure the holes in the top of the clips line up with the holes in the protector, then tighten the #6 x 3/8 screws through the protector and into the top of the
C clips. Do not over tighten. See Illustration #2.
Ensure the C clips are fully seated and the protector is centered, then tighten each of the #4 x 3/16 screws into the bottom of the C clips. Do not over

tighten. See Illustration below.
Install the three (3) bumpons as shown. Attention: The bumpons must be installed on the hood not on the protector !!!! If the bumpons are installed

on the protector, they will wear through the paint.
9.
On some vehicles it may be necessary to adjust the hood bumpers and/or latch for proper clearance.
Note: Do not pull on the protector when opening or closing the hood.
