Adjusting/Replacing
V-Belt
V-belt removal and replacement involves remov-
ing the V-belt, rolling it off of the pulleys, replacing
it with a new belt, then retensioning it.
To adjust/replace the V-belt:
1.
DISCONNECT JOINTER FROM POWER!
2.
Remove the rear access panel and V-belt
guard.
3.
Using a 17mm wrench, loosen the fasteners
on the tension rod shown in Figure 54.

Lift the motor up, slide the V-belt off of the
motor and cutterhead pulleys, and replace it
with a new one.
Lower the motor and adjust the V-belt ten-
sion with the tension rod fasteners so there is
approximately

" deflection when the belt is

pushed with moderate pressure, as shown in
Figure 55.
