PROCEDURE:

1. Inspect the Hg5 air/water separator to insure there is no liquid waste in it. If liquid waste is present,
contact Solmetex for further instructions.
2. If no liquid waste is present in the air/water separator, then with the vacuum running, detach the Hg5
Collection Container from the Hg5 air/water separator by removing the retaining pins and tilting the
container to break vacuum seal.
3. Prepare Hg5 Collection Container for recycling by snapping plastic cap onto
the Hg5 Collection Container and place into the Hg5 Series Collection
Container Shipping Bag and seal according to instructions on the bag.
Finally, place bag into Recycle Kit box.
4. Next, turn vacuum o and detach vacuum hosing from the inlet port and
outlet port of the air/water separator.
5. Using a 7/16" wrench, loosen both top nuts on the upper bracket.
6. Lift bracket up and remove the air/water separator from the wall
backplate and place into the provided plastic bag and seal according
to instructions on the bag.

Good question. Solmetex is
now providing the hardware
necessary to change-out the
old Hg5 Amalgam Separator
to the new NXT Hg5
Amalgam Separator without
having to remove and replace
the blue backplate.
With the supplied hardware,
you can keep the existing
backplate on the wall, and
change only the bracket,
screws, nuts & bolts to install
your new NXT Hg5 Amalgam
Separator. It's that easy!
