    GPI connectors, all based upon a set of priorities. In order to detect a lack of signal at the inputs, the DSW3000C03 includes Loss of Signal detectors (LOS) and Alarm Indicator Signals (AIS) for each input.

    • Module control and supervision can be done remotely when the mounting frame is equipped with a communications controller module. • One UR3000 mounting frame can house up to 12 DSW3000C03 modules. If power supply redundancy is required and FA3000 or FA3001 modules are used then only 10 modules can be housed in the mounting frame.

    ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE. Always use antistatic bags clearly identified with a high degree of shielding for storage and transportation. The DSW3000C03 module is composed of two parts: one DSW3000P03 main board and one DSW3000P02 rear board. Both parts must be installed in a UR3000 or UR3100 mounting frame following the instructions in the corresponding section of this chapter.

    The following figure shows the DSW3000C03 module rear board connector layout. Rear view of the DSW3000C03 The DSW3000C03 module provides three signal inputs (MAIN IN, RES.IN and AUX. IN) and three signal outputs (MAIN OUT, OUT and OUT). The connector labeled ''MAIN OUT'' corresponds to the output signal protected by a bypass relay that connects it to ''MAIN IN'' and provides signal continuity in the case of a power supply failure.

OPERATION This section describes the significance of the front panel indicators of the DSW3000C03 module and their remote control and monitoring ability. 4.1. Front panel description The appearance of the front panel and the elements it contains are shown in the following illustration.

This LED lights up when the operating mode selected is Semiautomatic. If neither of these two LEDs is lit then the operating mode is Manual.

    In order to avoid unnecessary switching the recovery time of the automatic switch after an error condition has been cleared is 15 seconds. Also, when an error is detected at a given input, the DSW3000C03 will only switch to the next highest priority input if that input is receiving a valid signal.

    The input terminals of the connector are: - MAIN FAIL IN, RES. FAIL IN, AUX. FAIL IN. The grounding of any of these GPIs is interpreted by the DSW3000C03 as an error identical to an actual error detected on the corresponding input.
  • Page 23 Finally, there is a GPI terminal labeled BYPASS that is normally connected to ground via an internal bridge. This bridge can be replaced by an external control circuit. If this circuit opens then the DSW3000C03 performs a bypass via relays from the main input to one of the outputs.

In order to perform remote configuration and supervision of the module an optional TL3000 family remote communications controller must be installed in the mounting frame.
