ice maker does not work unless manual button pressed, dumps ice tray, fills it up with water and does not continue dumping ice

The Samsung RS27T5200 ice maker may only work when the manual test button is pressed and not continue dumping ice automatically due to a possible issue with the internal timing or control mechanism that triggers the automatic ice dumping process. This could be caused by:

1. A malfunctioning timer or control system that fails to signal the ice maker to dump the ice.
2. Ice jams or melted ice in the bucket after a power failure, which can block proper operation.
3. The ice maker being turned off—automatic ice production is disabled unless it is turned on.
4. Improper reinsertion of the ice tray, which can prevent normal operation.

Make sure the ice maker is turned on, the ice bucket is empty and clear of jams, and the tray is properly inserted. If the problem continues, service may be needed.
