INSTALLING CTB08 HEATSINK

Note: To insure proper heat transfer, thermal compound should be used. This can be
purchased at a local Radio Shack or other source.
Each of the heat sinks has six holes. The four oblong holes that are evenly spaced are
used to attach the triacs. The other two holes ( one is oblong ) are used to attach
standoffs.

Kit includes,

Left side heatsink and Right
side heatsink
4 – ½ inch standoffs
16 – ¼ inch, 4-40 screws
8 – 4-40 nuts
16 – 4-40 washers
Step 1. Gently straighten all
triacs (4 on each side of the
board) so that they are
perpendicular to the card.

  • Page 2 Step 2. Install the four standoffs on the CTB08. Use four screws and four washers. Place the washers with the screws on top of the card. DO NOT TIGHTEN SCREWS Step 3. Apply Thermal Compound (not included) on the 4 triacs. Only a slight amount is necessary.
  • Page 3 Step 5. Turn unit over and attach heat sink to standoffs using two screws and washers.. DO NOT TIGHTEN SCREWS REPEAT STEPS 3 – 5 installing the heat sink on the other side. Step 6. Insert Remaining screws, washers and nuts to secure remaining triacs to the heatsink.
