The unit address is indicated by the combination of the states (on, off or flashing) of the four LEDs and the state
(sounding or not sounding) of the alarm. Determining a unit's address involves two steps.
Step 1: Determine address range
▪ The alarm state (sounding or not sounding) and LED states (on or flashing) indicate which of four address ranges the
unit address lies in. Refer to Table 3.3.
Step 2: Determine unit address
▪ Which LEDs are on/flashing indicates what number should
be added to the address range base value to obtain the
unit address.
▪ Calculate the sum of the 'contributions' indicated by the
LEDs that are either on or flashing, using the contribution
values shown in Table 3.4.
▪ Add the sum of the LED contributions to the address range
base value (from Table 3.3) to obtain the unit address.
▪ Note: If the LEDs are all off, the unit address is either 0 or 16 if the alarm is not sounding, or 32 or 48 if the alarm is
sounding. It is not possible to distinguish between 0 and 16, or between 32 and 48.
Four examples of using LED and alarm statuses to determine unit address are shown in Table 3.5. In the first
example, the alarm is not sounding, the OPERATION, TIMER and DEF./FAN LEDs are all on and the ALARM LED is
off. Refer to Table 3.3. The address range base value is 0. Refer to Table 3.4. The LED contributions are 8, 4 and 2.
The unit address is the sum of 0, 8, 4 and 2.
