    1. SAFETY General Safety Notes. The operator of the machine is responsible for, and has a duty of care in making sure that the machine is operated safely and in accordance with the instructions in this user manual. Keep the manual safe and pass it on if the machine is loaned or sold to another user.

    3. ASSEMBLY CAUTION For OUTDOOR use ONLY Petrol lawnmowers produce carbon monoxide – a poisonous, colourless and odourless gas that can cause serious injury or death. Petrol is highly flammable, always handle with extreme care and in a well-ventilated area. NOTE Images may vary depending on model.
  • Page 11 Remove the oil filler cap/dipstick and fill with fresh semi-synthetic SAE30 or 15w40 engine oil to the upper mark on the dipstick. Stop occasionally to check the level, DO NOT overfill. Once full, refit the oil filler cap/dipstick securely. GRASS COLLECTING MOWING 3.10 Lift the rear discharge flap.
  • Page 12 MULCHING 3.13 Lift the rear discharge flap and remove the grass catcher. 3.14 Install the mulching plug and lower the rear discharge flap. SIDE DISCHARGE 3.15 Carry out steps 3.13 and 3.14. 3.16 Lift the catch on the side discharge flap and lift the flap. 3.17 Hook the side discharge chute over the mounting points and lower the side discharge flap until it rests on the side discharge chute.

  • Page 14 OPC CABLE ADJUSTMENT NOTE It is necessary as part of routine maintenance to adjust the OPC cable tension to ensure the lawnmower will start correctly. 3.24 If there is more than 10mm play in the OPC lever before the cable begins to move, then the OPC cable will require adjustment.
  • Page 15 DRIVE CABLE ADJUSTMENT NOTE It is necessary as part of routine maintenance to adjust the drive cable tension to ensure the lawnmower will self-propel correctly. 3.29 If there is more than 10mm play in the drive lever before the cable begins to move, then the drive cable will require adjustment.

    4. STARTING PROCEDURE NOTE You MUST ensure the lawnmower has the correct oil and fuel level before operation. ELECTRIC START Plug the charger into a domestic plug socket and wait for the green power indicator light to turn on. Slide the battery into the charger and the charging indicator light should turn red. Once the battery has been fully charged, the charging indicator light should turn green to indicate that the battery is fully charged.

    5. STOPPING PROCEDURE CAUTION The engine and exhaust will remain hot for a while after use. Ensure the engine and exhaust have cooled before carrying out any maintenance or storage. Release the Operator Presence Control (OPC) lever and the engine will stop. 6.

    6.10 Always be sure of your footing on slopes WALK, never run. 6.11 Mow across the face of slopes, never up and down. Exercise extreme caution when changing direction on slopes. 6.12 Do not mow excessively steep slopes. 6.13 Use extreme caution when revering or pulling the lawnmower towards you, in case you slip and your feet go underneath the machine and in to the blade.
  • Page 20 CAUTION ALWAYS refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine off. Whilst carrying out maintenance you must wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). THE BLADE You MUST wear gloves to protect your hands from being cut when working with the blade.
  • Page 21 The spark plug gap should be 0.7mm to 0.8mm. Check the gap by using a feeler gauge. Adjust as necessary by carefully bending the side electrode to achieve the correct gap. Refit the spark plug by hand to avoid cross threading. 7.10 After the spark plug seats, then tighten with a plug spanner but do not over tighten.

Water can damage the engine or contaminate the fuel system. 7.16 Wipe the deck with a dry cloth. 7.17 You can hose under the deck by tilting the mower. Make sure you tilt the machine so that the air filter is facing up.
