APPROVALS, CAUTIONS, AND
LIMITATIONS

NIOSH Approval

This device has been approved by NIOSH in accordance with its
Limited-Use Public Health Emergency PAPR guidance issued in
April 2020. Refer to the User Instructions and/or the NIOSH
approval label provided with the Ford PAPR for a listing of
components used to assemble a complete NIOSH approved
respirator system or contact Technical Service. This device has
been designated for the following Protection:
HE
High-efficiency particulate air filter for powered air-purifying respirators.

NIOSH Cautions and Limitations

A
Not for use in atmospheres containing less than 19.5 percent oxygen.
B
Not for use in atmospheres immediately dangerous to life or health.
C
Do not exceed maximum use concentrations established by regulatory
standards
F
Do not use Powered Air-Purifying Respirators if airflow is less than four cfm
(115 lpm) for tight-fitting facepieces or six cfm (170 lpm) for hoods and/or
helmets.
I*
Contains electrical parts that may cause an ignition in flammable or
explosive atmospheres.
J
Failure to properly use and maintain this product could result in injury or
death.
M
All approved respirators shall be selected, fitted, used, and maintained in
accordance with MSHA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
N
Never substitute, modify, add, or omit parts. Use only exact replacement
parts in the configuration as specified by the manufacturer.
O
Refer to User Instructions, and/or maintenance manuals for information on
use and maintenance of these respirators.
P
NIOSH does not evaluate respirators for use as surgical masks.
S
Special or critical User Instructions and/or specific use limitations apply.
Refer to User Instructions before donning.
PH
The limited PAPR approval will be effective until the declaration that
circumstances exist justifying the authorization of the emergency use of
personal respiratory protective devices during the COVID-19 outbreak is
terminated under Section 564(b)(2) of the Act, or the EUA is revoked under
Section 564(g) of the Act, or until such time that the approved
configuration can no longer be maintained whichever may be shorter.
