    Specifications The 1218C Electronic Tank Gauge is intended to be located in an Ordinary Location. Its inputs are intrinsically safe for use with Class I, Division 1 Group D. T4 Hazardous location with all Morrison Bros. Co. 1218 Sensors. WARNING: This is an intrinsically safe device and must be wired in accordance with National Electrical Code Article 500.

    The included Quick Reference Guide must be attached to the lanyard installed on the bottom, left corner of the 1218C console. The web portal makes it quick and easy to configure the 1218C and also provides access to configuration options not available otherwise (e.g. Email notifications, FuelCloud settings, and External I/O Expansion Module).

    CoNFIGuRING youR 1218C uSING THE SySTEM MENu If you do not have access to a computer you will need to configure the 1218C through the System Menu using the buttons previously described in “Understanding What the Buttons Do: Basics of Keypresses” section on page 13.
  • Page 16 In order for the 1218C to accurately reflect the level of fluid in a tank, it needs to know certain basic information about each installed. • Status: Enabled {Channel/Tank 1 default} or Disabled {Channel/Tank 2 – 4 default}. By enabling a Channel/Tank, you allow that Channel to be monitored by the 1218C.

    • Value: Percentage of Maximum Fill Level which the alarm condition will trip. Allowed values are from 0.1 to 99.9%. The default value is 80% • Buzzer: Should this Level Alarm cause the 1218C’s Buzzer to sound continuously, automatically silence after the configured Autosilence Timeout period (see "INDICATOR SETTINGS" on page 21) or not sound at all? The default is to silence after the Autosilence Timeout period.
  • Page 18 Event Log is disabled by default. Relay Outputs The 1218C has two Outputs. These Outputs do not supply any power for your devices. They are Dry Contact Outputs, simply closing and opening a switch in response to system conditions and configuration according to their configuration.
  • Page 19 Event Logging The 1218C has the ability to keep a log of events. It will keep up to the last 1,000 event records in memory. When the 1,001st event record occurs, then the oldest event record is thrown away and the new record takes its place.
  • Page 20 Console’s display. If you want to be sure that these are accurate, then you need to take the time to set the Date and Time here. Over time the clock in the 1218C may drift due to temperature variations.

    • If the 1218C display is not awake, then wake it up with a Single Tap of the Silence/Test button. • Enter the Console's System Menu by pressing and holding the UP button on the control board while simultaneously pressing and holding the Silence/Test button for no less than 3 seconds.

    Sleep/Heartbeat/Wakeup Sleep mode is a Display Sleep mode. That is to say, the only part of the 1218C that goes to sleep is the display; the rest of the 1218C is always awake and aware of what is going on in its world. The 1218C continues to monitor levels and alarms inputs.

    The 1218C will continue to cycle through displaying Channel Data as it did prior to the Alarm Event. This is true whether you are in fill mode or not. The 1218C will continue to monitor all inputs, even in an alarm state.

    FuSE REpLACEMENT There are three replaceable fuses in the 1218C: one for each of the two outputs and one for the input power. All three exist under the Facilities Section cover plate. As such, it requires access to the inside of the 1218C enclosure.
