Freezer Defrost Heater

Bend tab inward
The freezer defrost heater is located at the
bottom of the evaporator between the rows
of coils, attached to the end plates.
It is a 420 watt glass tube radiant heater.
The heater can be dismounted by removing
the right end and center support. Bend the
tabs on the end plates inward then pull it
down and forward.
There is a drip shield mounted just above the
heater.
There is a 140˚F safety thermostat in the
neutral line of the heater circuit.
Note: The evaporator is shown
inverted for illustration.
