4.1 Starting

IMPORTANT!
POUR 150 g ENGINE OIL TYPE SAE 30 OR EQUIVALENT INTO THE GEAR CASE (9, Fig. A).
Unscrew the guard (19, Fig. D) and fit over the extension rod (24, Fig. E).
Screw the rod (24) onto the shaft and tighten the nut (21) with the wrenches provided.
Fit the hook (22, Fig.H-I) and tighten the two clamp screws (26).
Attach the two snaps of the harness (35, Fig. R) to the lugs (4 and 6, Fig. A) on the machine.
WARNING!
Before using the machine, make certain all components are properly connected and the screws securely tightened.

4.2 Use

WARNING!
Ensure strict observance of the requirements indicated in heading 2.1.1 "Results of statutory tests".
Sling the machine from the shoulders as in figure (F), and lengthen or shorten the harness (35, Fig. R) by adjusting the buckles (34).
The machine must be carried at hip height as illustrated in figure (F). A correct adjustment of the harness (35) will ensure that
the machine remains comfortably balanced, and therefore easier and less tiring to handle for the operator.
Having made the initial adjustments, select the branches to target with the hook. Shake only branches that grow directly from
the main trunk, offering the hook about half way along the limb as shown in figure (G), as in this position the wood will be flexible
enough to transmit the vibrating motion needed to detach the fruit.
With the hook too near the trunk, the vibrations could cause damage to the machine and discomfort to the operator.
To position the hook (22, Fig. H-I) on the branch, twist the extension rod from the grip (23) one way or the other until the rollers
engage on either side. Now transfer the left hand to the handle (17, Fig. D), and hold this position while the machine is shaking
the branch.
Keep the rod tensioned slightly against the branch and squeeze the trigger repeatedly, no more than 4-6 seconds each time.
WARNING!
Fruit will not be separated more effectively by throttling harder and longer on the same part of the branch; rather, move
the hook to another part of the branch and shake again.

4.3 Stopping the machine

The machine is stopped by shifting the lockout switch (10, Fig. C) to the STOP position.
