Installing the
Battery
(See Fig. A)

Detach the guard. (See Fig. B)

Open the battery compartment lid
at the rear of the radio.

Insert one size AA (R6) battery
(not supplied) with the ' and '
marks aligned correctly.

Close the battery compartment lid.
Battery life
Using Sony size AA (R6) battery:
Approx. 40 hours
When to replace the battery
Replace the battery when the sound
becomes weak or distorted. Remove the
old battery and insert a new one.
Notes on the battery
• Align the battery correctly.
• The dry battery cannot be charged.
• To avoid damage from possible battery
leakage, remove the battery when unit
will not be used for a long time.
Playing the Radio

Connect the supplied headphones
to 2 (headphones) jack and adjust
them to your head.

Set POWER to ON to turn on the
radio.

Set BAND to select FM or AM.

Turn TUNE to tune in a station.

Adjust VOL (volume).
• To turn off the radio, set POWER to OFF.
• To improve reception
FM: Extend the headphones cord which
functions as the FM antenna.
AM: Rotate the unit horizontally for
optimum reception. A ferrite bar
antenna is built in the unit.
• Set FM SENS to LOCAL if interference is
prevalent when radio wave intensity is
dramatically stronger.
To listen to stereo programs, set to DX.
Using the Guard
(See Fig. B)
You can attach the guard to the belt holder
on your pants and use it as a key ring.

Autonomie de la pile
Avec une pile de format AA Sony (R6):
Env. 40 heures
Quand remplacer la pile
Remplacez la pile quand le son s'affaiblit
ou présente des distorsions. Retirez la pile
usée et insérez une pile neuve.
Remarques sur la pile
• Insérez la pile dans le bon sens.
• Ne pas recharger une pile sèche.
• Pour éviter tout dommage dû à une
fuite de l'électrolyte des piles et à la
corrosion, enlevez la pile si vous
prévoyez de ne pas utiliser la radio
pendant longtemps .
Fonctionnement
de la radio

Branchez le casque fourni sur la
prise 2 (casque) et mettez-le sur la
tête.

Réglez POWER sur ON pour
allumer la radio.

Réglez BAND pour sélectionner
FM ou AM.
4
Tournez TUNE pour accorder une
station.
5
Ajustez le volume avec la molette
de réglage VOL.
• Pour éteindre la radio, réglez POWER
sur OFF.
• Pour améliorer la réception
FM: Déployez complètement le cordon
des écouteurs ou du casque qui sert
d'antenne FM.
AM: Faites pivoter la radio
horizontalement pour améliorer la
réception. Une antenne barre de
ferrite se trouve dans la radio.
• Réglez FM SENS sur LOCAL si les
interférences dominent quand l'intensité
du signal sonore est la plus forte.
Dans des conditions normales, réglez
sur DX.
Utilisation de la
garde
(Voir
l'illustration B)
Vous pouvez attacher la garde aux
passants de ceinture de votre pantalon et
l'utiliser comme un porte-clés.
