ECO-UV4 Ink Switching Method
About this Manual
This manual explains how to switch the ink being used from ECO-UV ink (hereinafter called EUV ink ) or ECO-UV3 ink
(hereinafter called EUV3 ink ) to ECO-UV4 (hereinafter called EUV4 ink)*
To prevent the ink from mixing, perform operations according to the procedures given in this manual.
* Colors with EUV4 ink are different than with EUV and EUV3 ink.
* Switching from EUVS ink to EUV4 ink is not possible.
To ensure correct and safe usage with a full understanding of this product's performance, please be sure to read through this
manual completely and store it in a safe location.

The firmware and updater downloaded from http://www.rolanddg.com/euv4/ are necessary for the operations in this manual. Check that the following files are present. Switching the Ink STEP 1 : Updating the Printer Unit Firmware Use the file that you have downloaded to update the firmware of the printer unit to a version that supports EUV4 ink. For the update method, refer to "readme.pdf," the file that you downloaded at the same time as the firmware. STEP 2 : Switching the Ink Display the [CHANGE INK] menu. -
Page 6: Step 3 : Cleaning Of The Periphery Of The Print Heads (Manual Cleaning)
Never use any implement other than the included cleaning stick. Cotton swabs or other lint producing items may damage the heads. If you use up the cleaning stick, purchase a new one from your authorized Roland DG Corp. dealer. - Page 7 Switching the Ink Prepare for manual cleaning. If a warning beep sounds If the operations are not completed within 10 minutes, a warning beep will sound to warn you of the print heads drying out. If the warning beep is heard, temporarily halt the work, close the front cover, and press .This temporarily interrupts the operations.

When only a printer that has been switched to EUV4 ink is connected to VersaWorks Initialize VersaWorks. Windows VISTA / 7 Click [Start]( )menu. Click [All Programs] (or [Program] ) - [Roland VersaWorks] - [Initialize Application]. Windows 8 Right-click on [Start] screen. Click [All apps]. Click [Initialize Application] of Roland VersaWorks. - Page 10 Switching the Ink Reconnect a printer that has been switched to EUV4 ink to VersaWorks. Start VersaWorks. The [Printer Settings] screen will appear. Set [IP address] to the IP address of the printer that has been switched to EUV4 ink. ...

This completes the operations to switch to EUV4 ink. When a printer that does not use EUV4 ink is connected to VersaWorks Temporarily delete a printer that has been switched to EUV4 ink from VersaWorks.

When Operations Are Interrupted When the Message "CANCELED FOR MOTOR PROTECTION" Is Displayed This message indicates that the machine's operations have been canceled in order to prevent pump motor malfunctions arising from overheating.
