Task
Prepare to install the expansion unit.
Determine where to install the expansion unit in the
rack.
Mark the location on the rack where the expansion unit
will be installed.
Install the rail assembly in the rack.
Install the expansion unit on the rail assembly.
5802 only
Connect the disk subsystem.
Add the expansion unit to the system and verify that the
configuration is functional.

Where to find associated information
To ensure that you have taken all preparatory steps to
install this expansion unit, see Installing the 5802 or 5877
in a rack (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/

For suggestions about how to organize the hardware in
your rack and to assign a location for the expansion unit,
see step 5 on page 4.
If you have a rack-mounting template for the disk drive
enclosure, use it to mark the location.
If you do not have a rack-mounting template, see step
5d2 on page 5.
To install the mounting hardware in the rack, see step 6
on page 6.
To install the expansion unit on the rail assembly, see
step 7 on page 8.
To connect a SAS adapter to the disk drive enclosure as
follows, see step 8c on page 16.
Add the expansion unit to the system by completing the
following steps:
1. Read important information about expansion units at
