3.1.1

Transporting the boiler with a crane

DANGER:
Danger to life through falling load.
▶ Only use lifting ropes of the same length.
▶ Only use lifting ropes that are in perfect condition.
▶ Hook lifting tackle only into the lifting eyes provided in the gusset
plates on top of the boiler.
▶ Never hook lifting tackle into the locking lugs on the front and
back of the boiler, or into the connectors.
▶ Lift the boiler with a crane only if you are suitably qualified to operate
the crane.
▶ Never lift the boiler with a crane on its side or on end.
Never use the locking lugs ( fig. 4, [3], page 11) for lifting.
▶ Insert the hooks of the lifting tackle into the eyes in both gusset plates
of the boiler shell ( fig. 4, [2], page 11).
▶ Attach the lifting hook of the crane [1] to the lifting rope.
The tilt angle of the end stop must be ≤ 90 °.

Moving the boiler with a forklift truck

DANGER:
Danger to life through falling load.
▶ Distribute the boiler weight evenly across the forklift truck/pallet
truck when lifting and moving the boiler.
▶ Observe the weight of the boiler and the maximum shipping weight of
the means of transport.
▶ When transporting, secure the boiler to prevent it falling.
NOTICE:
System damage due to damaged boiler shell.
Only move the boiler with a forklift truck if the forks are long enough to
reach right under the boiler.
▶ Prior to lifting the boiler, check that the front and back panels of the
boiler are supported by the forks of the forklift truck.
▶ Pass the forks of the forklift truck through both braces on the base
frame. ( fig. 5, page 11).
▶ Observe the dimensions of the transport apertures
( Table 8, page 11).
▶ Slowly lift the boiler with the forklift truck.
