  • Page 7 It is very important with the Xylophone Player that all of the various internal parts, shafts and tubes running up through the body are really well waxed and sanded smooth. They must all be able to drop up and down freely if lifted, especially the square block inside the body.

  • Page 9 It is also important that part 5 on page 6 is very well waxed and sanded – otherwise the motion of the player can be “clunky”. The correct gap around the tri-cam (part 13) on page 7 is vital. Too tight and the triangle will not be able to revolve (push a piece of 6mm diameter shaft into the tri-cam and place it into the slot in part 3 and then turn it to check the tri-cam will fully turn before finally gluing part 5 in place).
