Problem solving
problem 1:
No (perfect) motion of the hands after having started the clock.
solution 1:
Check polarity (+/-) of the battery. Check tension (quality) of the battery.
problem 2:
Second hand does not move, resp. does not start from 12:00 position, alternatively 04:00 or 08:00
position, after 6 minutes, max. 10...20 minutes.
solution 2:
No DCF77 signal reception! Get the clock new started, see "setting the clock". Change clock position,
eventually let the clock try to receive the signal "over night". Identify potential jamming sources and act
accordingly.
problem 3:
Second hand "flickers", runs unsmoothly from 12:00 position, alternatively 04:00 or 08:00 position.
solution 3:
Poor reception quality. Get the clock new started, see solution 2. Notice elements of interferences.
problem 4:
All hands run smoothly but the clock does not adjust to correct current time within 6 minutes,
max. 10...20 minutes.
solution 4:
No DCF77 signal reception! Get the clock new started, see solution 2. Notice elements of interferences.
problem 5:
Clock does not work anymore after 1...2 years in perfect motion, second hand "flickers", all hands
stand still or show incorrect time.
solution 5:
Change battery against fresh one. Wait for minimum 1 minute, better 2 minutes, before you insert
new battery. The movement will start initializing process automatically, see "setting the clock".
