TIRF cassette holder

Filter blocks that incorporate dichroic mirrors are attached. This holder reflects the laser beam from
the TIRF attachment to guide it to the objective. Up to six filter blocks can be attached and replaced
as necessary.
To protect your eyes and skin from exposure to the laser, do not detach the TIRF cassette holder
from the microscope.
Left side
(1) Excitation method switching ring
Rotate this ring to switch between filter blocks.
(2) Shutter lever
Move the lever clockwise to move the shutter into the optical path, thus interrupting the laser
beam.
In general, leave this lever in the "O" (open) position and manipulate the shutter control unit to
interrupt the laser beam with the motorized shutter.
(3) Filter block mount-cover
Make sure that all lasers are off when replacing filter blocks.
Remove this cover to replace filter blocks.
Replacing filter blocks:
(To clarify the description of the procedure, the diagram of the epi-fl cassette holder that does
not have the upper cassette holder is shown.
