Startup and basic functions

connect it to the device via chamber D of the
ISO connector. If the external IR sensor is to be
used, you have to select the IR input via
chamber D.
To toggle between the IR input via chamber D
and the integrated IR sensor K,
f while in DVD mode, press the MENU
button 4 on the device longer than
4 seconds.
Note:
When the external IR input via
chamber D is activated, the integra-
ted IR sensor K is deactivated.
Using the remote control
Point the remote control at the infrared
receiver at the front of the device (or at
the separate infrared receiver, if installed).
From its front side, the infrared receiver can
"see" an area of approximately 30° in all
directions. Hold the remote control in this area
when you press a button.

Switching on/off

The device is switched on and off by switching
the vehicle ignition on and off.
Standby mode
If the device is switched on, you can switch to
standby mode (display is switched off).
f To switch to standby mode, long press the
button C.
The display is switched off.
f To exit standby mode, briefly press the
button C.

Volume and sound

Note:
If the DVP 08 is integrated into a
multimedia bus system, you usually
adjust volume and sound settings on
the head unit of the bus system.
When you adjust volume and sound
directly on the DVP 08, this takes
effect without changing the corre-
sponding settings of the head unit.
Adjusting the volume
You can adjust the volume in increments from
0 (off) to 32 (maximum).
To increase the volume in increments,
f press the VOLUME + button 7 once or
several times or turn the volume knob B
clockwise.
To decrease the volume in increments,
f press the VOLUME – button 7 once or
several times or turn the volume knob B
anti-clockwise.
While adjusting the volume, the current
volume is shown on the display.
Mute
To mute the device,
f briefly press the
The display shows "MUTE".
To cancel the mute function,
f press the button C again.
