Setting up Progressive Scan
feature
(for Progressive Scan TV only)
The progressive scan displays twice the
number of frames per second than
interlaced scanning (ordinary normal TV
system). With nearly double the number
of lines, progressive scan offers higher
picture resolution and quality.
Before you start...
– Ensure that you have connected this
recorder to a progressive scan TV using
the Y Pb Pr connection.
– Ensure that you have completed the
initial installation and set-up.

Turn on the TV to the correct viewing
channel for the recorder.

Turn on the recorder and press HOME
on the remote control.
The Home menu appears.

Select { Settings } and press OK.
The system settings menu appears.

Select { Video output } and press OK.

Select { Active video output } >
{ Comp. video (YUV) } in the menu,
then press OK to confi rm.

Select { Video format } >
{ Progressive } in the menu, then press
OK to confi rm.
Read the instructions on the TV and
confi rm your action by pressing OK.
The setup is now completed and you
can start to enjoy the high quality picture.
Alternatively, select { Cancel } and press
OK to go back to the previous menu.
To exit the menu, press HOME.
If no picture is displayed:
Disconnect the recorder's ~MAINS from
the power supply.
Hold down . on the front panel
whilst reconnecting its ~MAINS to the
power supply.
Helpful Hints:
– Some progressive scan TVs are not fully
compatible with this recorder, resulting in an
unnatural picture when playing back a DVD
VIDEO disc in progressive scan mode. If this
occurs, turn off the progressive scan feature
on both the recorder and your TV.
– If the HDMI video output is turned on, the
progressive output signal will change to
interlaced.
