proper direction and push it in until the steering
wheel hub attaches to the protruding ends of the
pin (3).
Attach the steering wheel with the screw (4) and
the Belleville washer supplied (5), making sure
to fit the Belleville washer (5) with the concave
part facing downwards.
Tighten down the screw (4) with a socket span-
ner. Fit the steering wheel cover (1a), snapping it
into the appropriate seats.
3.3 FITTING THE SEAT (Fig. 3.3)
Fit the seat (1) onto the plate (2) using the
screws (3).
3.4 MOUNTING THE FRONT BUMPER
(if provided)
• Bumper Type "I" (Fig. 3.4)
• Bumper Type "Il" (Fig. 3.5)
Mount the front bumper (1) on the bottom of the
frame (2) using the four screws (3).
3.5 ASSEMBLY AND CONNECTING
THE BATTERY (Fig. 3.6 - 3.7)
To access the battery (1), remove the inspection
hatch (2), which is fixed with a latch (3).
First connect the red wire (4) to the positive pole
(+) and then the black wire (5) to the negative
pole (–), using the screws supplied as shown.
Apply silicone grease to the terminals and
check that the protective cap for the red wire (4)
is in place.
Reassemble the inspection hatch (2), fixing it in
place with the latch (3).
IMPORTANT Always fully charge the bat-
tery according to the instructions in the battery
booklet.
IMPORTANT To prevent the safety device in
the electronic circuit board from cutting in, never
start the engine until the battery is fully charged!

4. CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTS

4.1 STEERING WHEEL (Fig. 4.1 no.1)
Turns the front wheels.
4.2 THROTTLE LEVER (Fig. 4.1 no.2)
Regulates the engine's r.p.m. The positions are
indicated on the plate showing the following
symbols:
«CHOKE» cold start
«SLOW» for minimum engine speed
«FAST» for maximum engine speed
– The «CHOKE» position enriches the mixture
so it must only be used for the time necessary
for cold starts.
– When moving from one area to another, put
the lever in a position between «SLOW» and
«FAST».
– When cutting, shift into «FAST».
4.2a CHOKE CONTROL (if fitted)

It enriches the mixture and must only be used
for the necessary time for cold starts.
4.3 KEY IGNITION SWITCH
(Fig. 4.1 no.3)
This key operated control has three positions:
«OFF» everything is switched off;
«ON» activates all parts;
«START» engages the starter motor.
- On being released at the «START» position,
the key will automatically return to «ON».
4.4 PARKING BRAKE (Fig. 4.1 no.4)
This lever stops the machine from moving when
it has been parked. There are two positions:
«A» = Brake disengaged
«B» = Brake engaged
– The brake is applied by pressing the pedal
right down (4.21 or 4.31) and moving the lever
to position "B". When you take your foot off
the pedal it will be blocked by the lever in the
lowered position.
– To disengage the parking brake, press the
pedal (4.21 or 4.31). The lever will return to
position «A».
4.5 LIGHTS SWITCH (if fitted)
(Fig. 4.1 no.5)
For turning on the lights when the key (4.3) is in
the «ON» position.
