Fuel system
Bleeding
Press hand pump 3 of fuel prefilter repeatedly until the filter housing is completely filled with fuel.
Start engine and run for about 1 minute.
The fuel system bleeds itself automatically.
Environmental warning
Dispose of the water/fuel mixture properly without contaminating the environment.
Vehicles with fuel prefilter and heated water separator
Dewatering
Before bleeding, check whether water has settled in the sightglass 1.
If water has settled in the sightglass 1, drain water from fuel system.
Close knurled screw 4 on fuel prefilter.
Place a container under drain screw 2.
Slacken drain screw 2.
Operate hand pump 3 and collect the water/fuel mixture.
Tighten drain screw 2.
Open knurled screw 4 on fuel prefilter.
Bleeding
Remove cap from main fuel tank.
Slacken bleed screw 5.
Check that the knurled screw 4 is at "FUEL ON".
Place receptacle underneath.
Operate hand pump 3.
Bleed until the fuel emerges free of bubbles. If no fuel emerges, refuel main fuel tank with diesel and repeat
the procedure.
Tighten bleed screw 5.
Operate hand pump 3 about 200 times if the system is completely empty.
The fuel system is bled.
Fit and tighten cap on main fuel tank.
Start engine.
