    Setup Overview The GrowControl digital climate controller can be operated as a stand-alone device or with a Windows® PC and the GrowControl Monitor software. A communication cable and the free Monitor software are required to perform data logging and PC-communication operations.

    Sensor cables can be extended using male-female extension cables (available from Agrowtek) up to 50ft. Connecting Shut-Down Sensor GrowControl features a unique shut-down sensor that can be used for flood prevention, security and other measures. When the shut-down sensor is tripped, the controller de-activates all equipment until the “Re-Start-Delay” timer has completed.

    GrowControl operates on AC pwoer between 90 and 240 VAC (47-63Hz.) The input voltage will be passed to the equipment outlets when they are activated. GrowControl comes with eight (8) outlets that control up to six (6) pieces of equipment. Each equipment output can handle 8 Amps Resistive/2 Amps Inductive @ 120/240VAC (1000 Watts) The controller can handle a maximum of 15 Amps (resistive) combined.

    This timer prevents strange operating conditions when power is cycled to the controller from power outages or maintenance. Power Indicator LED: The GrowControl processor has an LED to indicate the controller is powered. A “Flashing” LED indicates that the controller is functioning properly.     Acceptable Values: 0 –100 %RH Minimum Humidity Heater Control GrowControl will operate the heater output when the temperature level falls below the heating set point. Separate set points are provided for the day and night. The hysteresis is the amount above the set point that the controller will allow before activating.

    Running the Software No installation is necessary; simply unzip the GrowControl.zip file or copy the files off of the provided CD (included with data communication cable kit) onto your desktop or any other suitable location. Open the GrowControl.exe file to open the GrowControl software.

    To start data logging, enter a logging interval (seconds) and press the Start button. The file will be named according to the date and time the log file was created and will be stored in the GrowControl program directory. The .csv file can be easily opened, viewed and plotted in any spreadsheet software package such as Excel® or OpenOffice.org.
