Focusing can be performed either with the horizontal
split image spot in the center of the viewfinder,
microprism collat or the peripheral matte screen around
it.
<Focusing with the horizontal split image
spot>
To focus with the split-image spot, peer into the
viewfinder and turn the focusing ring until the split
images of the subject in the upper and lower half of the
prism in the center of the finder match up.
The subject is in focus, when the images are matched
up but will be out-of-focus if they are not matched up
precisely.
<Focusing with the microprism collar or matte
screen>
Turn the Focusing Ring until the image on the
microprism collar or matte screen appears sharp. lf the
lens is not correctly focused, the image on the
microprism collar will appear grainy and that on the
matte screen will be unsharp.
