When adding detergent to your washing machine, there are five
things to remember:
1. Think about:
E the type of dirt in the items to be washed
E the size of your load
E the hardness of the water in your local area
2. Use only good quality detergents and only oxygen bleaches.
3. Carefully follow the instructions on the detergent or oxygen
bleach bottle or packet.
4. Mix powder or liquid detergent in one litre of hot or warm water.
5. Add the pre-mixed detergent to the wash load.
When using the option DELAY START pour the detergent down
the centre of the agitator.
Don't do these things:
E Don't use too little detergent because you will get a poor wash.
E Don't use too much detergent because this may lead to
problems, eg too many suds.
Having a lot of suds in the washing machine does not necessarily
mean that the correct amount of detergent is being used.
Some detergents do not produce suds at all.
E Don't use soap based products in your washing machine.
E Don't use chlorine bleach with laundry powders or liquid
detergents.
Fabric conditioners help make clothes softer and fluffier and reduce
static so that clothes do not cling to you when you are wearing them.
When adding fabric conditioner to your washing machine, there are
three things to remember:
1. Carefully follow the instructions on the fabric conditioner bottle
or packet.
2. Mix conditioner with an equal amount of warm water but only
mix enough to fill to the line marked inside the cup.
The fabric conditioner cup holds 75ml.
3. Pour the mixed conditioner into the cup in the top of the
agitator. The conditioner will automatically be dispensed before
the deep rinse cycle.
Don't do these things:
E Don't use fabric conditioner with the ECO rinse cycle.
E Don't spill the conditioner onto the clothes because it may stain them.
E Don't overfill the cup in the top of the agitator because the
conditioner may mix with the detergent and stain your clothes.
