WARRANTY RELATED INSTRUCTIONS
This foot spa was water tested at the factory and found to be fully operational and leak-free prior to shipping.
Freight handling and job site exposure may have deteriorated the spa's condition. This unit must be tested
for operation and leaks PRIOR TO enclosure/final installation. Failure to do so will void the warranty.
BEFORE INSTALLING:
Inspect foot spa thoroughly.
A. Damage from shipping or delivery must be reported to carrier immediately. Do not
install damaged foot spa. MTI is not responsible for damage occuring in transit.
B. Factory defect must be reported to manufacturer before foot spa is installed. Defects
claimed after installation will exclude warranty.
CAUTION: DO NOT LIFT FOOT SPA BY PIPING OR PUMP. To Do So May Cause
Damage Not Covered By Warranty.
Always protect spa from construction damage by using a protective cover. Damage, including
chips and scratches, incurred at the jobsite is excluded from warranty. Do not store in
temperatures below 30°F. Proper drain installation is the responsibility of the installer. MTI does
not warrant leaks associated with improper drain installation.
NOTE: The following are typical installation instructions–custom applications may vary. All
mounting surfaces must be level to provide for proper draining.
UNPACk FOOT SPA
1. Remove foot spa from shipping carton. Remove all protective packaging materials
such as tape and shipping pads.
2. To prevent floor damage, set the foot spa in the cardboard box prior to installing it in basin.
PREPARE BASIN
NOTE: Allow 1/2" for bedding compound under spa. The foot spa must be leveled from the top
flange of the spa, and completely supported under the full length of the bottom.
1. Place the foot spa UPSIDE DOWN on top of the basin.
2. With a pencil, trace a line around the outside edge of the foot spa on the basin top.
3. Remove the sink from the basin top.
4. Measure in 1/2" and draw new line inside the first sink outline. Exact hole size may
vary according to installation application.
5. Cut out the countertop along the inner line.
6. Install a panel for access to the pump. The panel should be no smaller than 14" x 16" and
have ventilation. If the panel is not ventilated, both an access panel AND a ventilation screen
must be installed somewhere in the basin. The screen must be no smaller than 5" x 7".
NOTE: Before installing your foot spa into the basin opening, you must drill any
additional faucet or accessory holes. Follow the directions listed below for any holes
made in the foot spa. Use the appropriate size hole saw to make the proper size
opening for your faucet. Faucet and / or hand sprayer may be mounted on the foot
spa or the deck surrounding the spa.
Follow directions very carefully to avoid damaging foot spa with drill. Do not
apply excessive pressure - allow the drill to do the work:
• Drill a pilot hole from the top first. Stop drilling when the pilot bit pierces the bottom
surface of the foot spa. Continue drilling from the top with appropriate size hole saw.
• Install handheld sprayer or faucet with a check valve in the countertop or surface of
foot spa according to the instructions provided with that product.
