If you use an extension cord, make sure that the total of the ampere ratings on the products plugged into the extension cord does not exceed the extension cord ampere rating. Never push objects of any kind through cabinet slots as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short out parts that could result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
Unpacking and Assembling the Printer This chapter provides you with instructions on how to unpack your printer and remove the protective materials. It also provides you with information that you need to find a suitable place to locate the printer. After unpacking the printer, you have to install the imaging cartridge before you can start printing.

Caution: Never place the printer on a stand that is narrower than the printer’s width, like that shown in the illustration below, otherwise you may damage the printer. Avoid locations that are subject to direct sunlight, excessive heat, moisture, or dust. Place the printer where you can easily unplug the power cord.
Installing the Imaging Cartridge The printer does not come with the imaging cartridge installed. You have to install it when you first use your printer. Caution: Do not turn the imaging cartridge upside down. Do not expose the imaging cartridge to light any longer than necessary.
