PC requirements

SITRANS TK modem can be connected to an IBM compatible PC with the
following minimum configuration:
- 80486 processor with Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11 or Windows 95
- 5 MB free hard disk space,
- 3,5" floppy drive,
- 1 free serial port and
- 4 MB RAM (recommended: 8 MB)
The message "OUT of MEMORY" will be given if less than 4 MB RAM is installed.
2.2

Connecting the equipment

PC, modem and SITRANS TK can be connected as shown on figure 1.
The SITRANS TK can be programmed, using the 4 to 20 mA cable. The maximum
distance depends on the cable type, resistance and capacity. We recommend to
use screened cables.
2.3

Loading the program

The program SIPROM TK is loaded in the normal way for Windows programs:
- Start Windows File Manager or Windows 95 Explorer
- Select drive A:\ and double-click with the mouse on the file SETUP .EXE.
- The program will suggest C:\SIWIN... as the installation directory.
- Type another drive/path if required.
Hereafter no intervention by the oeprator is required during the installation
sequence.
