Introduction The Broadcast Pix Slate™ 5000 is the industry’s first live, integrated production system to incorporate a 2 Mix/Effect (M/E) Production Switcher functionality with a Multi-View monitoring, Character Generator, Clip Store and Still Stores. In addition, it controls external audio mixers, camera and video servers. Having complete control room functionality allows a single operator to run all aspects of a sophisticated HD or SD production, resulting in a more polished and engaging production.
Always know what content will appear on air once a button is pushed on a Broadcast Pix Slate system; no other switcher on the market has this functionality.

(Applications from vendors other than Broadcast Pix should not be added to the system, unless approved by Broadcast Pix, or they will hurt system performance and invalidate the warranty.)

Multiple Slate Systems Unique to the Broadcast Pix Slate 5032 is the option to hook two or more Slate systems to one centralized router to share inputs and outputs. Great for larger facilities where multiple studios/control points are needed, it simplifies wiring by having one access point for all connections and lowers overall cost.

The Slate system is highly scalable, and can easily accommodate multiple users. A common setup up for a Broadcast Pix studio is a technical director, switching and calling the camera shots plus a second operator changing graphics and clips as needed. Both users are controlling the same Broadcast Pix workstation, the technical director with the 2 M/E control panel, and the graphics operator with a keyboard, mouse and dedicated graphics monitor.
3 party multi-view where ME 1 Program and Preview are monitored from the Broadcast Pix Multi-View and ME 2 Program and Preview are monitored off video outputs from the Slate/ Router outputs. The Broadcast Pix Multi-View is intended for a director/producer to verify camera shots, input signals and overall composition.
Program and Preview and reduced the amount of keyers to 5. Every Broadcast Pix Slate system can accept an external key cut and fill signal to use as a linear key. This feature not only uses 2 external sources, but it also uses 2 keyers (Key 4 & Key 3). When Key 4 is set to the external fill channel, Key 3 is automatically set and the cut source and disables Key 3 for use.

This option does not have to replace an audio operator, it can assist them. For example, when a clip from the internal Broadcast Pix clip store plays on air, it can automatically turn on the sliders for the clip store audio on the mixer, and when it goes off air the sliders turn off.

Sony BRC-300, BRCH-700, EVI-HD1 and many others. The Broadcast Pix software can control up to 9 cameras, with 6 presets each, directly from the 2 M/E control panel. It uses the joystick to pan/tilt/zoom and knobs in the Device Control to adjust focus, iris and other settings.
Hitachi Camera Control Option #801 (RS-485) The Broadcast Pix Slate system can also control larger box-style cameras with the Hitachi camera control through the Eagle Pan/Tilt heads and protocol. Up to 9 Cameras, with 32 presets each, are connected to the workstation using a serial RS-485 connection, which has a maximum length of 1,200 meters (4,000 feet).
Panasonic Camera Control Option #802 (RS-422) Additionally the Broadcast Pix system can control a wide-range of Panasonic cameras, including the AW-HE100, AW-PH400 and other Panasonic pan-tilt camera control systems. This software option can control up to 12 different robotic cameras, each of which may have up to 100 presets.
This option also supports up to 8 GPIOs, useful when needing to trigger memory scripts in the Broadcast Pix system from an external device.

Pro and an external data source. It inserts text and images into Inscriber layouts through RTX Tag fields and then updates and displays them on the Broadcast Pix Switcher. The text and images can be updated manually or automatically from XML data sources. This is an ideal option for sports production, where data is constantly changing, or for using as a simplified graphics station in a news or government production where a long list of names exist, and do not need to be re-keyed.
** Presentation Mode is using only 720p genlocked cameras coming in and going out a progressive format to a progressive projector. When activated the SD outs will be out of phase and delayed by 90 lines. Page Broadcast Pix Slate 5000 Installation Planning Guide - October 2008...
