Introduction The Broadcast Pix Slate™ 5000 is the industry’s first live, integrated production system to incorporate a 2 Mix/Effect (M/E) Production Switcher functionality with a Multi-View monitoring, Character Generator, Clip Store and Still Stores. In addition, it controls external audio mixers, camera and video servers. Having complete control room functionality allows a single operator to run all aspects of a sophisticated HD or SD production, resulting in a more polished and engaging production.

Multiple Slate Systems Unique to the Broadcast Pix Slate 5032 is the option to hook two or more Slate systems to one centralized router to share inputs and outputs. Great for larger facilities where multiple studios/control points are needed, it simplifies wiring by having one access point for all connections and lowers overall cost.

  • Page 19: Team Operation

The Slate system is highly scalable, and can easily accommodate multiple users. A common setup up for a Broadcast Pix studio is a technical director, switching and calling the camera shots plus a second operator changing graphics and clips as needed. Both users are controlling the same Broadcast Pix workstation, the technical director with the 2 M/E control panel, and the graphics operator with a keyboard, mouse and dedicated graphics monitor.

The Broadcast Pix Multi-View is intended for a director/producer to verify camera shots, input signals and overall composition.

Program and Preview and reduced the amount of keyers to 5. Every Broadcast Pix Slate system can accept an external key cut and fill signal to use as a linear key. This feature not only uses 2 external sources, but it also uses 2 keyers (Key 4 & Key 3). When Key 4 is set to the external fill channel, Key 3 is automatically set and the cut source and disables Key 3 for use.

The text and images can be updated manually or automatically from XML data sources. This is an ideal option for sports production, where data is constantly changing, or for using as a simplified graphics station in a news or government production where a long list of names exist, and do not need to be re-keyed.
