Troubleshooting

What appears to be trouble is not always serious. Check the following points before calling a service
center.
Symptoms
• Sound cannot be heard
from the speakers.
• The receiver does not
work at all.
• Remote controller does not
work.
• Nothing appears on the
monitor.
• SSM automatic presetting
does not work.
• Static noise while listening
to the radio.
• Disc cannot be played
back.
• CD-R/CD-RW or DVD-R/
DVD-RW cannot be played
back.
• Tracks on the CD-R/
CD-RW or DVD-R/
DVD-RW cannot be
skipped.
• Disc cannot be recognized. The DVD/CD player may
• "No Disc" appears on the
monitor.
Causes
The volume level is set to
the minimum level.
Connections are incorrect.
The built-in microcomputer
may have functioned
incorrectly due to noise, etc.
Dual Zone is activated
(see page 37).
No video signal comes in
when the source is AV-IN.
Signals are too weak.
The antenna is not connected
firmly.
Disc is inserted upside
down.
CD-R/CD-RW or DVD-R/
DVD-RW is not finalized.

Remedies
Adjust it to the optimum
level.
Check the cords and
connections.
Reset the receiver
(see page 2).
While Dual Zone is
activated, remote controller
only functions for operating
the DVD/CD player.
• Change the source.
• Starts playback on the
external component
connected to the VIDEO
IN jack.
• Change AV INPUT setting
to "Audio" (see page 43).
Store stations manually.
Connect the antenna firmly.
Insert the disc correctly.
• Insert a finalized CD-R/
CD-RW or DVD-R/
DVD-RW.
• Finalize the CD-R/CD-RW
or DVD-R/DVD-RW with
the component which you
used for recording.
Eject the disc forcibly
(see page 2).
Insert the disc correctly.
