Step-by-Step
If any fire alarm occurs, Press F2 to silence smokes. Then enter a valid 4 digit code to silence sounder.
Then enter a valid 4 digit code and 6 to reset smokes.
Note
Pressing F2 with no Fire alarm condition present will cause the sounders to activate and deactivate.
2-wire Smoke loop Wiring
Notes:
Sounders will continue to sound until a valid 4 digit code is entered. Upon doing so the onboard relay will
open back up releasing the voltage from the purple wire. When this is done the relays in the RRS-MOD
will seize to reverse and go back to their Normally Closed position. Sounding on the Smokes will stop.
The LED on the initially activated smoke will remain lit until the smoke is reset.
To reset the smoke enter a valid 4 digit code + 6. You will hear the speaker say "Smoke Power". This
resets the power to the smoke. The zone will stay in trouble until the panel is Armed and Disarmed.
When calculating total current draw of the control panel, remember to add current consumption (25mA) for
the polarity reversal relay module (RRS-MOD).
If, during power-up, the detector determines there is excessive electrical noise in the system such as those
caused by improper grounding of the system or the conduit, both LEDs will blink for up to 4 minutes
before displaying detector status.
When using the RRS-MOD with model 2WTA-B, do not mix the 2WTA-B with other model smoke
detectors and dry contact closure devices, including mechanical heat detectors, manual pull stations and
waterflow switches. Such mixing can cause a direct short on the auxiliary power terminals, damaging the
control panel's internal circuitry and/or damage devices connected to the initiating device circuit.
Only one 2WTA-B detector shall be installed on a zone, unless the panel switches the zone to a reverse
polarity, non-current limited power supply. For panels that do not provide this feature, a reversing relay,
System Sensor model RRS-MOD, may be used. When utilized with the 2WTAB, it allows for more than
one detector to be utilized on a loop. Some panels may require the use of programmable outputs. Refer to
System Sensor literature for further information on the RRS-MOD. The 2WTA-B detector shall not be
mixed with other 2-wire detectors on the same zone.
