before working on this device.
CAUTION
Reliable functioning of the equipment is only ensured with
certified components.
Important note
The products described here were developed to perform safety-oriented func-
tions as part of an overall installation or machine. A complete safety-oriented
system generally features sensors, evaluation units, signaling units, and reliable
shutdown concepts. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to ensure that a
system or machine is functioning properly as a whole. Siemens AG, its regional
offices, and associated companies (hereinafter referred to as "Siemens") cannot
guarantee all the properties of an entire plant, system or machine that has not
been designed by Siemens.
Nor can Siemens assume liability for recommendations that appear or are
implied in the following description. No new guarantee, warranty, or liability
claims beyond the scope of the Siemens general terms of supply are to be
derived or inferred from the following description.
Applications
The PROFIBUS DPV1 expansion module is designed for use with PAC
Power Monitoring Devices and COM800. The PROFIBUS DPV1 expansion
module integrates the PAC Power Monitoring Device or COM800 into power
management and automation systems.
The PROFIBUS DPV1 expansion module
• supplies the values measured by the device to the PROFIBUS DP master.
• receives information, e.g., commands, from the PROFIBUS DP master and
sends them to the device.
Required tool for installation
See Figure 3.
Mounting and connecting
Mounting position: vertical on the device
Mount the PROFIBUS DPV1 expansion module before operating the device.
Note the following:
• ESD guidelines
• PROFIBUS guidelines for installation, grounding, terminating resistors, etc.,

Only attach the PROFIBUS DPV1 expansion module to the plastic enclosure.
a) Ensure safe isolation from supply.
b) Discharge yourself.
c) Mount the device.
Mounting steps see Figure 4.
(1) Connect the PROFIBUS DPV1 expansion module to the device with the aid
of the guide and the anti-twist element.
(2) Tighten the screws connecting the PROFIBUS DPV1 expansion module to
the device with a torque of 0.5 Nm.
(3) Plug the sub D connector into the sub D socket.
(4) Screw the sub D connector into place.
(5) Ensure sufficient strain relief for all connected wiring.

Configuration
The PROFIBUS DPV1 expansion module is assigned to the PROFIBUS DP
master system using configuration software, e. g. STEP 7. The necessary GSD
file can be found on the Internet (see Online Service). In the case of COM800,
the created file can only be modified by configuration software or by means of
powerconfig.

Security information
Notice
Siemens offers IT security mechanisms for its automation and drive product
portfolio in order to support the safe operation of the plant/machine. Our prod-
ucts are also continuously developed further with regard to IT security. We
therefore recommend that you keep yourself informed about updates and
upgrades for our products and always use the latest version of each product.
You can find information on this at:
