TIPS FOR INSTALLING THE PLANTRONICS CS50 / CS55
Introduction
The Plantronics CS50 & CS55 Wireless Headset Systems are compatible for use with all 5501,
5001, 4001 & 3001* series audio consoles. (* Some 3001 consoles may have volume issues with
the wireless headsets. Contact Finetech Tech Support at 877-236-0245 for guidance.) All 5501
consoles and versions 4 & 5 of the 5001 consoles have a telephone jack on the rear next to the
matrix cable jack for use with the CS50 / CS55. All other consoles require the 5014 Wireless
Interface Adapter. (DO NOT use the 5014 adapter on consoles that have the adapter built in.)
Making the Connections to the CS50 / CS55
1. Connect the AC Power Adapter to the power jack on the bottom of the CS50 / CS55 base.
2. Connect the provided short handset cable between the bottom of the CS50 / CS55 base and
either the back of the audio console or the 5014 Wireless Interface Adapter as appropriate.

Initial Setup of the CS50 / CS55
1. There is a Configuration Dial on the left side of the CS50 / CS55 base – set this dial so that
the number one "1" is facing to the right (front).
2. Set the Master Speak Volume (outgoing volume) located on the bottom of the CS50 / CS55
base to the "B" position.
3. Set the Master Listen Volume (incoming volume) located on the back of the CS50 / CS55
base to the number two "2" position.

5014 and feed the console ground wire through the slot in the side of the case.
Use the provided screw to attach the 5014 case with the ground wire to the
console chassis. Replace the 5014 cover. IMPORTANT: The screw must be
used to secure the adapter to the console chassis to prevent intermittent
connections.
