Note: Always wear ANSI approved impact safety goggles.
Anytime any maintenance or repairs are done (including clearing jams), FIRST:
1.
Disconnect the Nailer from its air supply.
2.
Empty the Magazine Assembly (82) completely.
3.
Attempt to fire the Nailer into a piece of scrap wood to ensure that it is
disconnected and is incapable of firing any Brads.
4.
Always leave the Magazine Assembly (82) open during maintenance. The
Magazine is spring loaded, and may cause parts or a Brad to fly out of the Nailer.
1.
Occasionally, a Brad may become jammed in the firing mechanism of the
Nailer, making the tool inoperable. While wearing ANSI approved impact safety
goggles, remove the jammed Brad, disconnect the Nailer from its air supply.
Empty the Magazine Assembly (82) completely of Brads. Attempt to fire the Nailer
into a piece of scrap wood to ensure it is disconnected and is incapable of firing
any Brads.
2.
Unscrew and remove the three Screws (60) that hold the Driver Guide Cover
(57) in place. Then, remove the Driver Guide Cover. This allows access to the
Driver Guide (54) where a Brad will usually jam.
3.
Use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the jammed Brad. Then replace the
Driver Guide Cover (57), making sure to tighten the three Screws (60). Also,
make sure the Driver Guide (54) moves freely.
4.
Reload the Nailer with Brads. Then, reconnect the air supply hose to the tool.
5.
Press the Driver Guide (54) against a piece of scrap wood, and test fire the
Nailer several times while checking for proper operation. If the Nailer is properly
firing, you may continue using the tool. If the tool fails to perform properly,
immediately discontinue use and have the tool repaired by a qualified service
technician.
6.
When finished working, disconnect the air supply. Remove the Brads. Then,
store the Nailer in a clean, dry, safe location out of reach of children.
