Where the saturation index exceeds +0.40, the water is very scaling and an expansion control valve* must be fitted on the cold water line after the non-return valve for the Rheem warranty to apply to a Rheem storage tank. The Rheem warranty does not apply to the heat exchanger. - Page 14 In the table a number of important chemical components are listed, however the actual corrosion is a very complex process influenced by many different components in combination. Rheem's warranty will not cover any resultant faults if the water heater is connected at any time to a water supply that exceeds the limits listed in the table.
