Model VSA-1
Visual Switch Annunciator Module
INTRODUCTION
The SIEMENS Model VSA-1 Visual Switch
Annunciator module provides the system
operator with manual control and annunciation
of the MXLV System functions on a custom
graphic annunciator panel. Each VSA-1 has pin
headers for 8 push-button switches with func-
tions assigned to them in the CSG-M; each
push-button switch has pin headers for 2 LEDs
to indicate the function status, for a total of 16
LEDs. (See Figure 1.)
The VSA-1 is used to manually select speaker,
telephone, or strobe zones, as well as a wide
range of general system functions, such as All
Call, All Alarm/EVAC, Warden’s Page, and
Local Speaker. The switch use and zone
groupings are assigned in CSG-M.
The VSA-1 module may provide LED annuncia-
tion of system activity when the switch and LED
pair are programmed as generic. Each VSA-1
module contains 8 sets of 2 LEDs in three
different colors to indicate a variety of system
information, such as zone trouble or alarm. In
each set, the top LED can light red or green;
the bottom LED is yellow.
The VSA-1 provides all the functionality of a
VSM-1 module, and is defined as a VSM-1
module in the CSG-M.
