Intruder alarm system
For correct operation GSV4 needs one 12V
7Ah rechargeable battery. The battery is used
as a back-up power supply in case of a
temporary AC loss. This battery is also used
when an alarm system consumes more power
than GSV4 can supply (~0,7 A). Excessive
consumption may happen when the system
activates a siren. Usually activation lasts only a
few minutes, so it does not
battery.

Template. Siren output programming
In order to simplify security system programming, GSV4 is supplied to customers
with a pre-installed default template. It has 1 pre-programmed partition and 6 zones:
Zones:
Z1 is preset to be used with an entry door magnetic contact;
Z2 – with PIR motion detector in an entry/exit path;
Z3, Z4, Z5 – for PIR detectors wiring;
Z6 – key-switch zone to arm/disarm and clear the alarm.
PGM outputs:
+BELL is preset in the template to control a siren with no battery;
-PGM1 is preset to make an activation (makes "minus") of a siren with back-up
battery;
-PGM2 is preset to indicate system status (armed/disarmed).
SECOLINK security system GSV4 may have different templates for different
countries. Check GSV4 sticker for country's prefix or a pre-installed template code.
Example: GSV4_MY
Note: In most templates, +BELL is set for sirens with no
battery (picture 2). To use the siren with back-up battery
(picture 3) you need to change +BELL definition to Power
supply. Definition changing in software MASCAD is shown
on the right.

Note: If an installation of a siren with back-up battery is done

using 2 wires (picture 4), then an installer needs to make
changes as shown to the right. This type of siren uses a back-
up battery to sound an alarm and makes alarm when power

Leave no less than 10 cm of free space
between the ventilation hole and any other
surface. Increase in temperature of GSV4 can
reduce the maximum current on +AUX and
PGM outputs.
Calculated life expectancy for GSV4 at 40°C
ambient temperature is 9 years. Ambient
temperature over 40°C may reduce its life
expectancy.
Use 3 - 15 kOhm resistor on siren terminals +BELL
and -PGM if siren does not give enough voltage.
