Environmental notices

The following comments apply to IBM storage devices that have been designated
as conforming to NEBS (Network Equipment-Building System) GR-1089-CORE.
The equipment is suitable for installation at:
v Network telecommunications facilities
v Locations where the NEC (National Electrical Code) applies
Note:
v This product is not intended to connect directly or indirectly by any means
whatsoever to interfaces of public telecommunications networks.
v The ac-powered system does not require the use of an external surge protection
device (SPD).
v The dc-powered system employs an isolated DC return (DC-I) design. The DC
battery return terminal shall not be connected to the chassis or frame ground.
v The storage device (dc power) is intended to be installed in a Common Bonding
Network (or mesh network) as described in GR-1089-CORE, Issue 5 or latest
revision.
