    9 or 12 foam-filled polyurethane air cells are divided into three separate pressure zones. By utilizing different foam ILDs (firmness types), the Panacea Convertible air cells are specifically designed to meet the pressure needs of the different zones of the body.
  • Page 7 Warranty The mattress warranty is 2 years against manufacturing defects (see warranty for specific details).The optional alternating pressure control unit warranty is 18 months. Pressure Management This combination air/foam replacement mattress is designed to provide pressure management for the prevention and treatment of up to Stage IV pressure ulcers. Optional Alternating Pressure Pump Unit Power On/Off Switch Powers the control unit on and off.

    Directions for Use Panacea Convertible Mattress – Nonpowered 1. Place the mattress on the bed deck with the sloped heel section at the foot of the bed. Allow 45 minutes for the mattress to self-inflate. 2. Locate the pressure adjustment connectors under the Velcro flap on the side of the mattress near the foot end.

This may result in loss of integrity of the cover or internal air system. • NOTE – This product is only one element of care in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers by medical professionals and skilled caregivers to assist in the treatment and prevention of up to Stage IV decubitus ulcers for residents under their care.

    Transportation & CPR Transportation With Optional Pump 1. Disconnect the hose from the pump and quickly place the cap over the end of the hose to prevent air loss. 2. Check the fit of the cap for leaks. 3. Remove pump from bed/footboard. You may now transport the resident while in bed.

Lack of regular maintenance can result in poor or reduced resident support. 1. The air filter for the control unit should be checked routinely for signs of dirt or contamination.

    Troubleshooting Guide • NOTE: This mattress needs one hour after unboxing to return to original condition. Mattress will not inflate or if every other cell is not inflating while connected to the alternating pressure pump: • Disconnect the control unit and make sure air is flowing from the open ports. This is done by disconnecting the control unit from the mattress and physically feeling the air blowing out from one port and then the other.
