Greetings - This has happened before. After doing a full reset, my base unit still does not see the remote. The screen displays 2 dashes instead of the temperature. The batteries in both units are good. Open to suggestions at this point. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks!

The La Crosse Technology BBB82684 base unit may not be detecting the remote sensor and displaying two dashes instead of the temperature due to one or more of the following reasons:

1. The sensor is too far from the clock. It must be within 5 feet during setup.
2. Batteries may be weak, mixed, or incorrectly installed. Use fresh, matching batteries.
3. The sensor and clock may need to be reset. Remove batteries from both for 15 minutes, press any button on the clock 20 times, then reinsert fresh batteries into the sensor first, followed by the clock.
4. Interference or improper pairing can prevent a signal. Hold the PLUS (+) button for 3 seconds to search for the sensor again.

Ensure no other devices are interfering with the signal.
