(4). Decoder Section Adjustment
Test Point:
Recording Output Connector
Adjust:
VR102 (Y LEVEL)
VR106 (C GAIN)
VR105 (C PHASE)
Cursor (+) or (–)
Set the MODE SELECT/CAMERA SELECT Switch to the
CAMERA SELECT position, enter the Adjustment Mode
A.
Supply the Ramp signal to the Camera Input Connector 1
on the Rear Panel.
Set the Gain Control of the Vectorscope to the maximum.
Select Cursor ( ) or ( ) to the CA-R Carrier Balance (R-Y)
position as shown in Fig. 4-4.

Adjust Cursor (+) or (–) so that the R-Y Carrier Balance
Vector positions at the center of the Vectorscope as
shown in Fig. 4-5.
Select Cursor ( ) or ( ) to the CA-B Carrier Balance (B-Y)
position.
Adjust Cursor (+) or (–) so that the B-Y Carrier Balance
Vector positions at the center of the Vectorscope as
shown in Fig. 4-5.

Set the Waveform Monitor to the Chroma mode.
Observing the Waveform Monitor, confirm that the
Chroma Pedestal level is less than 35 mV as shown in
Fig. 4-6.

Select Cursor ( ) or ( ) to the PED (Y Pedestal) position
as shown in Fig. 4-4.
Connect the terminated Oscilloscope with 75Ω to the
Recording Output Connector.
Adjust Cursor (+) or (–) so that the Luminance Pedestal
level becomes 0
Adjust VR102 so that the Luminance level becomes 700 ±
14 mVp-p as shown in Fig. 4-7.

Supply the Colour Bar signal to the Camera Input
Connector 1 on the Rear Panel.
Adjust VR105 so that the Chroma level becomes just roll
off from the maximum Chroma level.
Adjust VR106 so that the Chroma Vectors position their
respective boxes as shown in Fig. 4-8.

Repeat adjust VR105 and VR106 so that the Chroma
Gain and Phase becomes satisfactory.
After adjusting press the SET Switch.
