The rack is waiting to connect to the DC-BUS. Flashing any color indicating status. 3.1.1 DC-BUS connection/disconnection logic The Vertiv HPL Lithium Ion Energy Storage System enclosure has several means it uses to ensure that it is not exposed to overcurrent conditions, especially when joining the DC-BUS. Reasons for over overcurrent include high delta-V between the battery rack and the DC-BUS and/or mismatch in state of charge (SOC) between batteries on the DC-BUS and those wishing to connect.
  • Page 27 • Thereafter, the rack with the lowest SOC joins the DC-BUS first. Other racks wait until the DC- BUS (with the low-SOC rack) voltage falls within a window of a few volts, which minimizes inrush currents and reduces stress on the batteries. Depending on the charge rate of the UPS charger and the SOC of the batteries, this may take minutes or up to an hour.
