    Charging the Battery The battery is not charged at shipment. Before use, charge the battery in the supplied battery charger. An NP-T125 rechargeable battery is supplied with the camera.     Inserting the Battery After charging the battery, insert the battery in the camera as described below. Open the battery-chamber cover. Slide the battery-chamber latch as shown and open the battery-chamber cover. Do not open the battery-chamber cover when the camera is on. Failure to observe this pre- caution could damage image fi les or memory cards.
  • Page 7 Inserting the Battery Removing the Battery Before removing the battery, turn the camera off and open the battery-cham- ber cover. To remove the battery, press the battery latch to the side, and slide the battery out of the camera as shown. The battery may become hot when used in high-temperature environments.

    Inserting Memory Cards Pictures are stored on memory cards (sold separately). Open the memory card slot cover. Unlatch and open the cover. Do not open the memory card-slot cover when the camera is on. Failure to observe this precau- tion could damage image fi les or memory cards. Insert the memory card.
  • Page 9 SETTING > MOVIE FILE DESTINATION. Compatible Memory Cards FUJIFILM and SanDisk SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards have been approved for use in the camera; UHS-II cards can be used in both slots, while cards with a UHS speed class of 3 or better are recommended for movies.
  • Page 10 Inserting Memory Cards Do not turn the camera off or remove the memory card while the memory card is being formatted or data are being recorded to or deleted from the card. Failure to observe this precaution could damage the card. Memory cards can be locked, making it impossible to format the card or to record or delete images.

    Turning the Camera On and Off Use the ON/OFF switch to turn the camera on and off . Slide the switch to ON to turn the camera on, or to OFF to turn the camera off . Fingerprints and other marks on the lens or viewfi nder can aff ect pic- tures or the view through the viewfi nder.

    Checking the Battery Level After turning the camera on, check the battery level in the display.     Taking Photographs (Mode P) This section describes how to take pictures using program AE (mode P). Select B STILL IMAGE drive mode. Press the DRIVE button and select B  STILL IMAGE from the list of drive mode options. Adjust settings for program AE. Aperture: Select A (auto).

To prevent pictures that are out of focus or too dark (underexposed), keep your fi ngers and other objects away from the lens and AF-assist illuminator.
