Complete assembly and disassembly instructions for F635 slurry valves
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Fit the graphite gasket (8) to the end cover (9).
2 Fit the end cover (8, 9, 10) to the bottom end of the valve body (1).
3 Pack the valve gland with graphite packing (7).
4 Fit both gland studs (11) after first coating them with anti-seize compound.
5 Fit the disc (2) inside the valve bore, with the disc screw holes uppermost. (For 5 degree angled
seat option only, ensure that the disc is positioned so that the valve will close in the anti-clock
wise direction, looking from the top of the valve.)
6 Fit the gland plate (5) and the gland collar (6) to the shaft (3).
7 Insert the shaft assembly (3, 5 and 6) through the body (1) and disc (2), ensuring that the shaft
and disc screw holes are aligned.
8 Fit and tighten the disc screws (4). For valve sizes DN 50 - 300, there are two only disc screws
for sizes DN 350 - 500, there are three.
9 Check that the disc is free to rotate. (For 5 degree angled seat options, check that the disc is
free to move from the open to the 5 degree closed position).
10. Tighten up the gland nuts (12) ensuring it is not overtightened.
11. Assembly is now complete and ready for installation. Refer to the F635 installation and
commissioning instructions.
12. The gland may need to be adjusted on plant start up.
DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove the valve from the pipeline. The disc should be in the closed position.
2. Disconnect any electric or pneumatic lines and remove the actuator.
3. Clean off all external deposits of slurry by steam cleaning or grit blasting.
4. Remove both gland nuts (12), gland plate (5) and gland collar (6).
5. Remove both gland studs (11) from the valve body (1).
6. Remove the end cover plate (9) and gasket (8).
7. Remove the disc screws (4). For valve sizes DN 50 - 300, there are two only disc screws.
For sizes DN 350 - 500, there are three. With the larger valves it is recommended that you
support the disc.
8. Drive out the shaft (3) using a brass or aluminium dolly from the bottom of the valve.
9. Remove the disc (2).
10. Remove all the old gland packing (7).
11. Thoroughly clean all components and examine them for excessive wear or damage, replacing
them where necessary.
12. Disassembly is now complete and ready for re-assembly. Refer to assembly instructions.
